On 14 December 2023, DysrupIT™ and SolCyber hosted their first cyber round table in the Philippines to spearhead a conversation about the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity and how everyone can work collectively to strengthen the Philippines’ cyber resilience, readiness, education, and culture.
The successful event brought together key industry figures from the Philippine government, private companies, and cyber experts from Australia and the United States. The discussions were engaging and informative, kicking off with artificial intelligence (AI) before transitioning to other cyber topics, such as preparedness, cybersecurity insurance considerations, and the challenges and opportunities surrounding cyber readiness for potential breaches.
The conversation flowed naturally thanks to Charmaine Valmonte‘s skillful moderation, where discourse dug deep into the intricacies of Philippine government policies, legislation, and enforcement mechanisms in place. Our guest speaker, Scott McCrady, CEO of SolCyber, flew in from the United States to generously share his expertise and provide a comprehensive global perspective.
Further highlights include AI policies, the role of Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) in providing cyber affordability in the Philippines, and strategies for building alliances with other countries. More importantly, we addressed the need to increase female participation in the cyber domain, an essential step toward inclusivity and diversity in the industry.
